I am working on a scene in Maya and had exported everything as a triangulated OBJ to import into Maxwell Studio. Rather than maintaining the groups I had created in Maya all the objects were separated from their groups, but renamed to what group it was a leaf of.
Not a big deal, although would prefer to have it maintain groupings if possible. The problem was when I tried to group them back into Maxwell. I think there were over 100 or so objects that I needed to group together. The problem was that when I created a group based on the object selection, it took about 10 to 15 minutes alone just to group. Studio was un-useable during that time since it was running full tilt.
Maybe a better and faster method of implementing grouping functionality?
