Any features you'd like to see implemented into Maxwell?

Sometimes, if you need to rename certain objects in studio, It refuses certain names, and automatically ads a (b) letter at the end, as if there were another object with that name.

This is similar to the case in which a geometry is updated, and replaced, all the names are chaged automaticallly ading a (b) letter or (c) letter and so each time the model is updated.

It is like maxwell is dettecting an inexistent conflict.

This is how it works when you have the same name in the scene.

Yes Tom, I understand, but it happens to me, even if there is No other object in the scene. Perhaps it was an object with that name but it was removed long time ago, and maxwell acts as if it would be still there.

It also happens at the time an object is updated.
I understand that an update is replacing the old object, with a new better and newer one. In this case there should not be any need of simultaneous coexistence, of two object with a same name, so there is no need to change the name of the object each time it is updated.

I though I wrote this in the Bugs section... I am crazy?

Yes, it was moved from bugs section due to uncertain explanation in your first post. Now with your second post the problem is much more clear. We really expect certain steps to bugs as reports rather than wishful descriptions. Thanks for understanding. Also, you are now talking about two different problems (bugs) and it'd be great if you can post them as seperate threads under bugs section again describing with simple steps as a receipt. Thank you, Ernesto.

What is not helpful:
"Sometimes....bla bla happens"

What is suitable and helpful:
"You do that.... it ends up like that"

Tom,

Let me correct you:
Sometimes I have not enough time to invest to detect the full problem.
In those cases I try to report what I know, although it is not complete, but that does not mean that it will be not helpfull. Somone else could see the partial report and discover the cause. Otherwise not reporting it can cause time loses to people who RE-Discovers the problem.
The most difficult problems are not that clear, but happens randomly, and may take more time or people to discover them.
Just my opinion.

Ernesto

So, is this a known issue?

Thanks a lot for your response, I will update and […]
