Any features you'd like to see implemented into Maxwell?

Okay, I don't follow this part of the forum really closely, so someone may have already asked this, but here are my 2/3 requests.

1.) Please bring back the part of the renderer that shows what sampling level and time you were at during each update. This would really help in predicting how long to let each frame run in an animation if you were in a time cruch.

1a.) Could there be an option to have Maxwell save a seperate file for each update. Like myrendering01.jpg, myrendering02.jpg... and so forth. Again, if you let it run while you were away you could compare these files to the output of time.

2.) When working in the material editor in Studio, if it went back to the last place you were when loading a map that would be great. Having to start in the Next Limit folder and go to where I keep my textures each time is quite annoying.

Thanks,
Chris

No1 : Predicting with no action is not very important, is it? When Maxwell gets the final speed (that is R1.0 official) then will be no need to predict, I hope.

No2 : Not very important as a feature but useful for what you want it.

No3 : I think this is very important for workflow improvement. Everyone has specific folders for textures and materials so this is very nice to have.
(This has been asked before but it is nice to be said again)

for nuimber two you can use a little tool called folderwatch...it backups files if they change and numbers them nicely

There is a preferences box in studio that you can change the default directories. Is that not it ?

@Thomas: The setting is there, but I don't think the path preference for textures is actually used yet (in RC5). :?

@misterasset: regarding 1a, I added this function ('Save Updates') to the Render Progress Monitor...more info at:

Hope it works good for you! :)
