I don' think taht you can compare modo render with maxwell, just for a test you should try to dowload the arroway texture on Tom's tut, and you can try to create a similar material in modo. As you can see from TOm's tut. setting it up in maxwell is failry weasy , but as you will notice it takes sometweaking and the result is just not as nice in modo. go ahead give it a try.

I am NOT comparing maxwell with anything. and i'm not telling maxwell is worse than modo
