it would be nice to have an output to photoshop so the alpha. color, beauty, specular, and other render layers could be in one file

YES! A psd sequence with the different passes (color, specular, shadows, caustics, etc each with an appropriate alpha) for us animation guys would make the difference from using on small projects to using it for broadcast.

Just make sure you can choose what layers you want to render so if I need to re-render just my caustics I can.
