I take that back - one of the guys over at McNeel tends to take things personally and I'm sure Bob has winced more than once over it. I won't mention any names. :P

The world is an imperfect place, full of imperfect people.

Everyone is entitled to be an asshole now and again but we shouldn't abuse the privilege. Civility costs nothing, rudeness can prove very expensive, so let's shut out the timewasters (including me if that's how I'm percieved) and get the forums back to where they were... useful, informative and FUN.

This forum is doing fine; it's neither a total circus of profanity nor an overly-moderated thought-police zone.

Here, you've got a good balance of your "long-winded pointless complainers," your "can-do-no-wrong" sycophants, and then those in between.

But as in any other CG forum, there is also a tiny handful of users who run tests, post, and help make the product and the forum better. They don't have time for a whole lot of the 8th grade schoolgirl drama and bullshit; they have better things to do. And they're not so powerless and inconsequential in life that they have to maximize whatever little power they feel they get on the internet by burning up bandwidth with their rhetoric, self-important platitudes, and reactionary, insipid, pointless commentary. Instead, they contribute useful info and feedback and move on.

All hail those users; they make the rest of you tolerable.

_Mike
