I'd like to be able to render a portion of my scene in Maya like with mxstudio. I keep having to export the scene to tune an area.

Please NL, could you incoorporate that in the maya plug. This is really helpful ( MORE PRODUCTIVE) to manage all aspects of rendering via the plug directly into maya render view without having to export MXS.

This is one of te reason why i left animation to mental ray for the moment.

ya, I know that this is a big want for me. As it is, I have to tune parts of renders by exporting to mxstudio and then jumping back to Maya. We know that Maxwell's not the fastest renderer so this is essential.
