Seems like Maxwell lacks support for a dedicated blendmaterial?? Two ( or more ) materials separated with a mask. This can be obtained with the existing layer system, but it´s a ¤¤¤¤ of a job balancing maskmaps in shades of grey.

There should be a possibility to group materials in folders/containers with same blend possibilities as layers. (Nested layers)
It should also be possible to drag and drop an existing material into a folder/container.

Workflow is the bottomline. Makes sense ??

I just did a search on blend & multimaterial & and didn´t find what I was looking for.

See your last posting is from feb 2007. How is progress??

The progress will take some more time. As we also want it working soon, we strictly try to avoid problems. So, we're trying to make sure of it about every aspect. Material core is extremely important.
