How about following mental ray and Gelato and use the GPU? That's going to be pretty standard soon (1-3 years?), so why not design your shaders and everything around the GPU?

I know nothing about the mechanics of what goes on in a computer to get the renderings but would the ART Pure PCI card ever be able to be used to render using Maxwell.

At present it works with 3dMax and maya so I presume for these users it is possible. But for others? what is required to get it to work?
