I'm not sure, but I think the main benefit of 64-bit for MW users would be with mxcl.exe.

Just a stupid question, can XP64 be installed on a laptop?

Undoutbly, but additionaly, if we get real 64 bit plugins, we could benefit from improved memory management at export time: would be nice for heavy scenes. Plus, it would not be necessary to keep a 32bit version of the 3D application just to use the plugin.
