oskit, has made several official post through out the forum with some inside information. If he was an imposter I'm sure he would have been flushed out by now.

I wouldn't really describe it like that. It was around before Arnold came around and the arnold code they bought is probably >1% of messiah. It's a character animation program first and foremost although it has a nice renderer that is coming along (that apparently has some arnold code in it). It does not have a modeller.

I'm sure they'll be thrilled to have Maxwell support.

I think it's an iteration of Arnold. Am I right?

PMG gets excellent results with their own renderer (which swallowed Arnold - which was old skool GI) you can see these at their website. mesiah is stand alone and also plugs into MAX and MAYA (AKAIK!) so you may alreaqsdy be able to render through maxwell. I'd be interested hearing from some PMG users to see what they hav to say (obviously there is already one here asking for a bridge!).

I also use messiah and messiah's renderer is a amazing renderer, but it is mainly focused on enhancing character animation and rendering work and not as a general renderer like most. Having a direct connection to Maxwell is far more desirable than going through another app like Maya or Max. My goal is to render character work with messiah's renderer with lighting props, and environment from Maxwell. Compositing the scene elements.

I use messiah:studio primarily for it's rigging and animation, but I've found the rendering to be more than adequate for my needs. It's also very fast. This being said, I welcome a plugin for Maxwell, which looks to be an outstanding environment renderer. Also, I like that it will be available on OSX.
