Hi all ye tech wizards..
I have an issue with one of my machines. I recently bought this machine from a friend. It is almost identical to a machine that I own.
Specs:
Intel socket J/ LGA 771.....I know old....But still good.
20 gigs of ram
MOBO: s5000xvn ( I have another machine with this same MOBO...Works great)
Crappy video card...
Two xeon 4550's.
Chassis: Antec Titan 650
Power Supply: Cool Master 700.
The machine was not heavily used. I put two new processors in it. (upgraded) The computer only had 2 gigs of ram. I upgraded to 20.
The only thing different about this machine compared to my one that has the same MOBO is that I used all Intel suggested components like the chassis and power supply.
I have tried all the usually configurations...Swapped the ram, swapped the cpu's. Ran them individually and together.
So what is happening, after about 15 minutes of rendering with all cpu's maxed, the machine will shut off. It will do this with either on or two processor in it. It will shut down a bit quicker with both cpu's on the board. I was watching core temps, and the are only running at about 80c.
I left it idle for two days, just using the web, outlook and Photoshop, and it did not shut down. It is only under heavy load that makes it shut down.
I am thinking faulty or incompatible PSU.
Any ideas?
Thanks
