Hi Gurus,

Sorry if this has already been covered (I have searched, honest!)......... Which is better for Maxwell: Core i7, Duel xeon 56xx, or wait for Sandy Bridge?

I am currently running a windows XP 32bit system running under Bootcamp with Duel Xeon X5472.....will I notice a big speed increase from any of the choices above?

I will be upgrading to XP64 on a Workstation PC to take advantage of the extra RAM capabilities, as Bootcamp is limited to 2GIG (the 3 Gig switch doesn't work in Bootcamp).

Thanks in advance.

P.S. Skip XP and go with Win7.
Thanks Bubbaloo. Is the price difference worth the extra speed you would get from the Xeons? If Sandy Bridge is going to be faster than both of them I'll hold out for that as it's just around the corner.

BTW, my modelling software doesn't support Win7 (I'm on an old release of iDeas NX) :(
