What exactly it is? I saw the page, but I don't know.

Plugin? Standalone program? Modeling? Nurbs? CAD?

I also have not used it yet but it is Visual Programming Software for parametric
generative modeling.
In contrast to parametric Solid Modelers (like e.g. SolidWorks) which come with more
or less predifined sets of parametric behaviours one here can first freely define rules
and then apply them to any given problem.

To the original poster - do you know a little more about Bentleys plans?
Are they really making GC free or is this only a time-limited teaser for the upcoming
release?

hi, it's free at the moment but as far as I remember it used to cost something close to 3dmax. There's not much info, yet in my opinion it's the most advanced universal parametric system available. There is also something called Paraclouding but seems to be not that easy. Of course there is lots of parametric software out there;)

This one is standalone but used to work under microstation environment. It's all in one, nurbs, cad etc. Think of things like this one: http://ftp2.bentley.com/dist/collateral ... london.pdf

and many, many other cool design solutions
it's a great time saver too;)

That's great - when I once saw it demoed I found the Microstation GUI very foreign...
So you have installed it and it also doesn't say anything about being time-restricted?

Btw: When you mention Paracloud you certainly shouldn't forget the fabulous Grasshopper by McNeel.
