Yep it finally happend! i have bought me webspace and a domain at Surftown, i got 20gb for about 65 euro per year including the cost for the domain, and i can have up to 10 domains there. :) yay! this is part of my prep for my photostudio props as they will go on sale when they're finished along with other content i create and also a place for my portfolio and much more.

Thank you so much guys! it dug a deep hole in the wallet but i hope i can make it worth it and possibly earn back the expense in the long run. :) i been waiting for years, i think it's over 10 years to get my own website and hopefully now i will be able to get it done. Only problem is.. i absolutely suck at webdesign. :D

It's gonna be the best site on the internet!

As you know we've had a lot of talk about websites in the OT section, and those free CMS solutions often got the most votes. So really consider one of those. It can still look very personalized, yet be technically more refined than anything you (learn to) build from scratch. Some kind of sales-module will be necessary of course for automation.

p.s. That 65€/yr deal sounds great for what you get.

Hehe Adrian, i guess it will end up more like the infamous Homer Simpson website. :D

CMS hm, alright i'll keep that in mind. I still have no clue what it means but i assume it's something good! yep some pre-built store solution is something i have to pick. Not gonna attempt at creating something like that myself :) it would have disaster written all over it.

Yeap i thought so too, 65 euro was quite fair considering i got 20gb and up to 10 domains which is far more than i ever need. :)

CMS stands for Content Management System, so basically a prebuilt framework that allows you to build your website (and extend its functionality via module/packages) without deep knowledge of webdesign.

Maxwellrender.it uses one of those for example, Joomla! in this case.

If you insist on building from scratch, let us help you

Adrian: Thanks for the explanation, it sounds like a good thing to learn. :)

Hervé: A movie about Sweden ? i must suck :D

Oz: Thank you very much! :)

I forgot to mention that i signed up for Twitter yesterday, no idea why.. but i'll testrun it to see if it's anything for me or not. My nickname on Twitter is.. Maximus3D. It's empty at the moment because i have nothing special to say.

Hervé, that's great :) keep me posted if it's worth watching :)

wagurto: Thanks! first one ? you need to be fast if you're gonna be the first :) creditcards, oh i hope so. It's still way to early to say. But PayPal will be the first solution that i go for. Anything else depends on what solution i can find for the store itself. I need to start looking into that pretty soon..

Cary: Thank you! :) i'd like to hope all goes well, i don't want my 65 euro to be spent for nothing. Time will tell..
