I have been trying to render out a 5000 frame animation in Vray.

Quotes so far have been horrendous. Nearly £1500 or some even more.

What is the cheapest way of doing this? I have an urgent deadline coming up.

I am sorry to mention Vray on here, but it is impossible with Maxwell at the moment.

Please someone have a cheap solution!

Anybody want to loan me a room of Dual Quad machines??????

Don't know where you've been loking already, so you maybe know already, but: http://www.ranchcomputing.com offers also vray render (with max-scenes) I believe or also http://www.rebusfarm.de/ seems to have nice prices...

What is your optimum resolution? 1080p? 720p? 480p? How will it be displayed? One more question How long per frame?

best to break the animation down and add a contingency clause based on the amount of time you have for project if you are worried about getting it done on time. 1500 quid sounds reasonable given your predicament....

another option is to have the client eat the rendering cost. although with that kind of price, you could invest in several i7 workstations dedicated as servers and run the animation through backburner.

720p is what we are aiming for.

£1500 doesn't sound that bad for a fast turnaround of 5000 frames.

Comes back to 'fast/good/cheap.......pick two' If your client can't absorb the rendercost, they'll have to do without it, or have it delivered later than they ideally want.

Or.......did you already agree animation deadline before final costing? ....that one requires a bit of delicacy.
