Please post here anything else (not relating to Maxwell technical matters)

Incredible!!
John Bonham and Billy Cobham are the best drummers I've seen live. The guy with Wall of Voodoo was also very good, but I forget his name.
I'd like to see this kid play with a band. That is a totally different situation from a solo.
A really good tabla player also drops my jaw.

Edit- Oh, and Keith Moon.

People always seem to look at technical stuff and solos...but listen to Bonham on the Lemon Song - I mean during the laid-back parts...so behind the beat it's crazy. This kid sure is good, but I don't know if I can see him grooving that way.

His playing is the holy grail of wrist technique. The dynamics are perfect.

But I don't really dig his style.

When it comes to style I like Jacob Armen much more (just look up on his name on youtube).

for me as a jazz fan, my favourite drummer is elvin jones...
have a look here: http://www.drummerworld.com/Videos/elvinjoneszach.html

there's also a very good european drummer which i like very much, daniel humair. btw, he's a great painter, too!

of course, there are also the great max roach, jack de johnette, airto, tony williams, kenny clarke... and so many others.

Hee Hee...

I sent the clip to my old band mates and assorted friends from that era, back then they used to call me Drummer.
One replied with, "Yeah, that's really neat...but what would he sound like late into the third set in a hot smokey nightclub after drinking at least two dozen beers and assorted shots of Tequila? That is the Drummer I remember."

That warmed my heart... :D

The 14 year old kid is great, however I agree that it's only really impressive when you have to play like that for 2 hours solid... it may not be your taste in music, but check out this guy; drummer for Slipknot:

And for something TOTALLY different (not a drummer) - Buckethead
When you watch the video that is not a floor pedal effect, it's a "killswitch" mounted in his guitar...
