Maximus, you must try the hidden Rhino command _testsetaalevel ... MOI isn't needed for smooth screenshots.

yanada: Thank you :) hehe, i might try loading it into Moi later on when i'm 100% finished with all this. But Moi can produce some really sexy wireframes..

Micha: Nice tip, i read a little about that now when you posted it. Could try it out later to see if it works well :) thanks

Another update, smaller one. I started pulling all pipes and cables now on the entire machine. It's a massive work as everything needs to be connected so it works like in real life, phew! it's gonna be a looooong night.. :D

Btw, i include one of the reference photos i use to build this part from, i had no measurements on anything, only eyed out all the proportions and details to build it. :) i'm quite satisfied so far..

Thanks Teabag  i spent about 2 weeks on this project. Effective time is probably around a week and 2-3 days or something like that. I learnt a huge amount about a machine i had no idea existed by building it with every little detail down to the smallest of screws. :) ..i'm slowly getting closer to your modeling quality now.

 thank you very much for your kind words raja, let me first finish the modeling, there's not a lot left to do now. Then i'll be posting more interesting shots (technical) for you guys to see. :)

Another update, (btw i apologize for the spamming). This time i added all the necessary hoses and cables from the main controldevice and started to hook them up to the rest of the machine. Now it's finally starting to look like something! :)

Sigh.. as the model is pretty much finished (except for 2 things) i should have delivered it today. However since the model has grown so much lately in terms of detail i no longer have enough ram left to render it on my system and i'm stuck not being able to deliver the job. Any suggestions what to do.. ?

:(

If I remember me right, you can render a Maxwell file without Rhino. So, the problem is to create the Maxwell file, right? Per Rhino you can save a lot RAM, if you:

- ... try to get a low poly count of the rendermesh (mesh settings)

- ... convert all NURBS to meshes and delete the NURBS, so Rhino must not hold the NURBS geometry in RAM

- ... if you makes anything ready, save the file, close Rhino and open the model again and start rendering immediately (if you use Rhino a while and render than, you use more RAM, so my experience)

- if you use my render tools from http://asgvis.com/index.php?option=com_ ... pic=2013.0 and use the button, that load an empty scene during the scene is send to the render engine

Thanks for the tips and suggestions Micha and Bubba, i tried it all and couldn't get it to work. However i got some excellent help from e3D or Neil Evans as his real name is whom with his renderfarm was able to render this exactly as i wanted it and very fast too. :)

Here's the final result, it's now delivered and the client is very satisfied. :) (it's watermarked with my name)
