Hello!

I am a archicad user but I´m working with a colleague who use autocad, and we are having incompatibilities issues. The thing is that archicad can´t import 3d dwg data neither export it, and my colleague have troubleshooting when importing .3ds file within autocad. The problem resides that when he import .3ds file in autocad the complete model is translated into surfaces, no more solid. ANd the other big issue is that when he export .3ds file from autocad the 3dpolylines disappear when opened within 3dstudio or cinema. So, is there anyway or step to solve these compatibilities issues?.

NOt sure if you have already resolved your problem or if this will even help but you should search 'Jomaga' in this forum. He is an AUtoCAD user and has a translation method. Im an AUtoCAD user also and I am trying to get answers for my problems.
On another topic, you mentioned that ARCHICAD cant import 3d Autocad models?? I just went to a presentation today for ARCHICAD and they said the can import and export 2D dwgs, Im assuming thats also 3D .dwgs.
