yes, awesome clocking.

on another site they got 4,1 GHz on air! I hope these values are not achieved with selected cpus.
Would be a big improvement compared to my q6600 or a G0. Under water ~4,2-4,4 GHz could be possible 8)

i think the q9450 will be my next proc...

BUT: it's still Xeon (socket 771) with FBdimm :?

@Max: Some shops guarantee to deliver g0 - but this is not a guarantee that this cpu will overclock well - normally G0's should be better than B3's but...
If you want to be sure to get a good overclocker you can pay ~20% more and buy a pretested cpu from a overclocking shop.

Max, the sSpec number on the outside of the box will read SL9UM if it is B3 stepping and SLACQ if it is G0. Some Q6600's ship with B3 and some with G0. All of the Q6700's are G0.

numerobis: Good info there, thanks i'll try to find some specialized stores here in Sweden that can help me with that when the time comes.

Fran: Thank you! :) that's helpful info i'm gonna look more into it with the resellers here and see if they can dig some out for me when the bankaccount allows it (hopefully soon).

There's a way to id them once you installed the cpu via some sorta software isn't it ? can CPU-Z do it ?

AMD owns most of their research now, that's why they're so damn fast!

Yes, this is possible - or the other way with the stepping on the box as Frances said - for Q6600 it's SLACR, SLACQ's are q6700's. But not many shops display this code, you have to order first to see what you get.
