Please post here anything else (not relating to Maxwell technical matters)

Someone on this forum was looking for a realtime renderer a while back, and I was just looking at Autodesk Showcase, and it's really very impressive. What they've basically done is take Studio Tools's realtime renderer and sell it as a stand alone software, so it's a little more affordable. Here's a link to some still images, but remember, these are screenshots of a model that can be rotated in realtime and maintain the level of render quality, which is hugely powerful for Industrial Designers. Add to that the ability to instantly change materials, and maintain a high quality render, it's potentially an excellent tool to have in the design process.

looks a bit like the same idea of environment mapping you get with auxpecker for rhino, yet a higher quality.

Man, I love Auxpecker (thanks Hyltom!!), so anything like this that has a bit more tweakability shaderwise would be awesome (especially if Rhino isn't your main software). I could use this, Auxpecker already saved my hide a few times when there was no more time for rendering!

As far as I know, the HDRI environment can be switched out to any environment. I have Studio Tools, and if it's built off the same basic interface, you can modify the environment parameters easily.

All you need now is $10,000.00  It is a little expensive, but considering that Studio Tools is $25,000.00, it's an affordable investment if it brings in customers.

Wow, yeah that pricetag is a bit dear isn't it?
I wonder how it compares to Hypershot..

I was on presentation of this product in june. It can do a lot of things and realtime. I liked that ambient occlusion - shadows simulating radiosity - it is very nice. And i liked changing normal direction dependent on point of view during preparation process. Since a lot of car renders use just surfaces instead of solids it is very usefull. There is just no raytracing, and no linux version (as i remember). Anyway it is nice and expensive.

Another realtime renderers: DeltaGen http://www.rtt.ag/cms/en/ (one of the best)

and another one: VD2 http://www.vrcom-online.de/english/start.html

I just tried Auxpecker but my renders are jagged and looks awful - so could you/someone tell me how to make good renders with this tool.
