well currently all displacements are normal displacements.. maybe it is going to be possible to do a curved displacement...

like.... some vector displaced grass would curve the grass blades.. dunno.. maybe...ahhh I'm dreaming..

anayway, I think Modo rocks the house.. :D

I'm kinda worried though, that Modo's new image based sculpting is only going to be of use within Modo, that you can't export the detailed mesh like with MudBox/Zbrush. I hope i'm wrong :)

Preordered 301 a couple weeks ago, can't wait to do some animation sequences, which i'm totally new to.

I thought I read on the lux forum that in 301 you can 'freeze' the displacement into polygons???

As I understand... not yet... but soon.

I was wondering about what vector displacement is too. In one of the 301 preview videos there is a part that shows a displacement map that is (looks like) a normal map, not greyscale for displacement offset, but with the different colours according to normal direction. It does look like that normal map can somehow actually create “curved” displacements. So is that a vector displacement?
