i can not believe that anyone with half a brain would consider this a good investment of time / money!!!!
It is one of those ideas that should never see the light of day.... i hope this is a joke!
I suppose this would be an efficient way to organize if you were working with a keyboard-less tablet PC. However, I'd probably need quite a whole warehouse full of virtual 'desktops' to organize all of my crap.......
"Skill without imagination is craftsmanship and gives us many useful objects such as wickerwork picnic baskets. Imagination without skill gives us modern art." - Tom Stoppard
From another point of view it's probably a good programming exercise and it's cool to be able to simulate and control all that caos with some kind of physical behaviour. It's a pity it's not useful.
I think this is a joke right? Judging from mvertas response I guess it is. Or did he mean the people who think this is real are gullible. I want to think its a joke, but much worse ideas have made it to market. The whole point of a computer is that you dont wan't to organize it like a physical desktop.
But why do you think one should limit the things shown in this demo to the desktop functionality? It could be useful in photo applications for one thing, in some cases it could give you a quicker overview, or any software that uses nodes, like compositors.
