Are you guys nuts? 299 bucks for 30 HDRs. That's seems pretty fair to me. Ever have to make a good, high-quality seamless HDR?

What seems crazy is 5oo bucks for a software that is still pretty much unusable unless you spend another 25,000 on a renderfarm so your clients won't die of old age before they see a render.

I am sorry to say Jake that Maxwell is totally USABLE... and yes 299 is expensive...

BTW, I don't see real differences other than color in the renders on the HDRI site...

Well you may not be nuts, but Maxwell is only usable if you have a lifetime to wait, especially with interiors. But, that's not the point of the thread, sorry Jan.

I think there are many variations available and not just variations in color. I don't think you looked closely enough. There are NOT a lot of HDRI's available and I still believe $299 is reasonable,

If you have Photoshop CS2 then you could make the windows as harsh as you want them.

Yeah, that's a thing I'm always looking for... Some good HDRI-Maps of only skies with clear, bright sun that's creating harsh shadows. Found none so far. I guess the reason is, the cameras don't "like" to be exposed directly toward the sun with not the slightest cloud covering it.
@Jan Häusle: would that be possible to make? I mean, surely it would be a bestseller among architects

Do you have PhotoshopCS2? Sorry Jan, I'm going to give SJ a tip, but it will cost money.

Go to http://www.1000skies.com/fullpanos/index.html and buy a few of their high-rez panos then convert them to 32-bit radiance files with Photoshop While not TRUE HDRIs, you can fake it a bit by playing with gamma and exposure settings and blending you own multiple exposures.

You are still better off with Jan's work.

The extremly high resolution is certainly very impressive and i guess that goes hand in hand with the quality aswwell, but i haven't seen what they look like. Would be interesitng to see what they're like rendered. Just wish i could afford them too.. :/
