This subject can get out of hand real quick. And I'm assuming the subject shouldn't be discussed here in the first place, but I'm curious.

What are the two wrongs as you see it?

Well I guess instead of pointing the finger or trying to be controversial I am more interested of gauging the forum’s opinion about this issue.
I guess depends on peoples perception on this issue but I was raised believing that killing is wrong is not compatible with any sense of humanity.
Life is not just about rendering and sample levels or noise reduction… some issues affects us all and determine the way our society develops…
I may be alone thinking that what I have witness through the media reports is barbaric and should not take place in our times, maybe I am naïve or wishful thinking, but we all leave with the consequences of this type of actions, even if you feel miles away from any of this carnige…

I agree with Stephen.
judging from the bias that exists on this forum, I am afraid that this thread could go completely mad...
OTOH when did that stop me from posting.

Everybody can see that it is not "the right to defend themselves". A crime of war is beeing commited as I write these lines. The same crimes that where commited in Jugoslavia, Afghanistan, Vienam, Irak e.t.c. just to mention a few. No one will pay for it. No one has ever payed for it.
Beeing a capitalist, living in a capitalist society, doing a capitalist job makes me part of the problem, not the solution.
We can cry all we want about genocides, murders, foreign occupation, but the fact remains. We are the ones creating it. We want our SUV's, our apple macs, our Windowz, pentiums, dual cores, quad cores. The more we want, the more will die for us.
What "given" comfort would we be willing to sacrifice so we could save someone elses life: Our drinking water, our everyday plenty food, our TV, safe sex, drinks, shower...???

Don't kid yourselves. NOTHING.

Epilogue.
It's not about jews, Arabs, Niggers, Yankees, Ragiades, Spiks, Chinks, Japs..... it's about the Money baby!!

It may seem macabre, but it's the truth.

Edit:
I just hope we never find petrol in our sea.

If everyone saw the world as you do, it clearly would be a better place. Kudos to your parents for doing a fine job raising you.

Now the bad news. Unfortunately the world will never be as reasonable as you, and history is a good judge of this. Troubled times indeed.

I will not give my actual point of view on this subject. Politics is way too polarizing, especially in that part of the world.

I hope this will come to a peaceful end soon.

... i guess it is by looking at history which makes all this more disturbing.
Like i said, sooner or later it will affect us all... not by terrorism or all out war but by the way our society changes with these kind of events.
Remember we can not expect respect from others when politicians act as if the world is a big game. I know the world is a very complex place and that every story has two sides but seeing the dead bodies of children in whatever side being pull out of bombed buildings still makes me sick... sorry if that's too simple way of seeing it...

And i don't think that all material wellbeing will ever make you truly happy so lets not confuse it with moral bankruptcy

… one more thing, I am not sure why this should not be posted here? I mean, it’s off topic and I guess this is as much a reflection of users opinions as lets say many other issues like animal rights issues or other demeaning topics about woman etc…

x_site, don't get me wrong. I agree with the moral part 100%, but I am talking reality.
History is full of the same sh*t.
Just imagine that nearly all modern religions were forced on people by the sword.
It has always been like this. Nature has it's laws, and we obey them.
Preservation of the strongest. It could be otherwise... but hey don't forget that more than 99% of the population of the earth is plain STUPID.
We are animals, don't be fooled.
Just look around you.

You're right, and I wish humankind would take a big freakin' leap forward and finally evolve into something better......we think we're such clever animals, but not nearly clever enough to stop destroying each other. We are dumb dumb dumb.
Throughout history, where there have been rescources up for grabs there have always been wars and destruction.....just look what the Romans did to Dacia, or the colonial powers did to Africa.......it's always happened and will always happen, it's terribly sad and leaves me with a feeling of disgust.

I don't know about solutions, other than human extinction.

pretty pointless... even the news are money oriented... everything is money oriented.... well maybe not the love of my mother, but even though I wonder....

Human extinction will happen in many ways, pollution, climate incident getting closer and closer, so recovering from disasters will become challenging, ..... sooner or later..

the funny thing is that we already started to pollute space....

Missiles are very trendy today... (can we laugh of really everything... hell yes... because in any case, crying will do... nothing..)

I guess what this means is a complete lack of faith on humanity’s ability to do the right thing. I guess what I can conclude is that most of you always expect the worst out of people because of personal experiences, a sense of powerlessness or just plain disappointment. I think it’s a bit sad when people allow for this to happen either in your neighborhood or a foreign country. Some of you see yourselves as part of the problem but fail to understand you’re also part of the solution. Yes humankind is full of flaws and capable of terrible things against its kind, but also capable of enlightened leap forwards and of the most amazing sense of empathy and understanding.
I guess a grave future awaits us all… not the kind of world I would wish to my children. Extinction fortunately is not the only solution and ‘natural’ evolution not always driven by primordial and primal instincts… we are at a cross roads and the path we follow will tell if we’re worthy of our large brains….
