if by x64 you mean win xp x64 i don't think you have to do anything - 32-bit software runs emulated wiht very little speed loss:

This is possible due to a special x86 Windows on Windows 64 (WOW64) emulator built into the OS."

I have that problem as well. Sometimes, even though the program may be at least 32 bits, oftentimes the installer or licensing software is still 16 bits.... which x64 dosen't allow.
