That board is a monster ... I see it going for upwards of $2000, but is commonly available for around $1200 (US).

I think that's correct. ...with that said, .. I'm we'll see one that will, ie, ..a 16 core setup. It might already exist, .. don't know ... I'm not paying that much attention right now.
