From: born in Wolfsburg, Germany,
studied in Braunschweig,
founded arch4d in Berlin,
actually employed in an arch design office...
Family: just asked my girlfriend to marry me a few days ago ;-)
Worked with 3D: since the early days of my architecture studies, must have been cinema 4d 6.0...
Worked with Photorealism: always tried, never achieved, but maxwell helps a lot
Why: well, here it is not easy getting a job in a design office, but i got some offers due to my 3d skills. so this is what i do and what i really love to do. but i´d rather have my own office again, or would be glad working a cool 3d viz office.
so, if there is some freak like me out there in hamburg, PM !!!

Age: 40
From: Malmoe, Sweden
Family: Wife, daughter age 9 and twin boys age 3.
Worked with 3d: Been using it as a complement to my primary profession which is photo-retoucher since Alias Power Animator 8.5
Worked with Photorealism: "Always"... first with airbrush on paper, then on film as a traditional retoucher then with various software up til currently Photoshop. In 3D: bits and pieces for 5 years. Full images...I will present the first ones this coming monday for a *BIG* company, wish me luck :D
Why:Because its what I'm relatively good at as an artist  .I have been a successful retoucher for 16+ years which has resulted in a company that today employs 10 people :D :D . Photorealistic 3D has been my passion since my first visit to the 3D-festival exibition in Malmoe, were people from Digitial Domain, ILM and others totally blew me away... Finally I must say that I'm totally thrilled about Maxwell since it enables me to use my photographic know-how in an imaging-workflow that has the potential to be the biggest thing in my business since Photoshop :D .

And the fact that I just stumbled over it in the industrynews-section of 3D-world magazine..
