Nice cat pics Tim.
Are you using a flash?
The eyes suggest very low light (they are dilated).
Scenery is always nice to see.

Mihai wrote:Beautiful :) What zoom lens did you use?
Camera Nikon D200
Lens AF-S DX VR Zoom-Nikkor 18-200mm

The Camera was stolen in London on the way back, luckily I'd burned the images to DVD whilst in Croatia.

Now waiting for the insurance, so I can go out and buy another one :(

prices start from 10 €, as far as I can remember, but the traditional characters are around 80/100 € and even more. there was one of those shops down the road when I was living in venice...

let me tell you that it's full of these shops nowadays in venice, much more than murano glass shops; I always felt that every once a common shop was closing a mask shop would have taken its place.
If you don't mind having a not traditional character of the carnival you can go for a cheap one. you can have look here for a general prices understanding: http://www.bluemoonmask.com/ITA/content/intro.asp

I had read somewhere that quite a number of masks were now coming in from Asia putting the local craftsmen / artists out of business. Therefore, I was reluctant to buy one from the street sellers and there were a lot of street sellers.

We found a very small shop not far from the Rialto Bridge, the owner inside busily painting masks. So we ended up buying one of the cheaper ones, can’t remember how much it was, I’ll ask my partner when she comes home.
