Thank you very much! although technically i never left, i have just been 'missing in action' for a while.

Now seeing the news about 4.0 it got my juices flowing again, can't wait to see what's more in store for this release.

and as we see now. gpu alone seems also to be problematic

I don't think they said it's not possible, just that it's not ready yet, but it's on the roadmap.

Yes we are working in several ways to make hybrid rendering. So in the future will be hybrid rendering one way or another.

So, how is this "roadmap" meant to be read? From top to bottom with additive materials coming last? And what's the timeframe?
As it is now this is a list of planned features, not a roadmap.
