I think it looks very cool. There's only so much time I can devote to learning new software though, I'm sure you feel the same. My personal thoughts on the subject of choosing the right software, is make an informed decision, and stick with it, learn as much as you can about the software you choose, become an expert with it. Then keep an eye out for promising new software and give it a try. Only make a switch if it's revolutionary and contains features that you can't live without. That's why I've been using Max and Maxwell for several years. Still learning (there's so much!) and I haven't ran across any other software that I can't live without. RealFlow is my next personal learning goal, which I still have much much to learn.
I will also say the mist limitation is very small in comparison with all that is possible with RF and Maxwell. I'd definitely recommend it.
