btw. prad.de is a very good review page for displays. Maybe you can find another model there.

I know the U2713HM from my father who bought it some months ago. It looks good so far. No problems with the backlight.
I can't say anything about the colour fidelity and calibration, but the overall image looked good.

Hey, I found it for 499€, haha, right under the budget.

I reserved it as it was out of stock right now. Let's hope I don't get those backlight problems.

It finally arrived and I'm delighted! No backlight problems, perfect screen, so much space,... I'm astonished by the quality, sharpness and resolution. Thanks everybody for your good advices. This is me looking at the screen ---> and again

Congrats! ...yes coming from 19" a 2560x1440 screen can be quite overwhelming - i have taken exactly this step 3 years ago
But you'll be surprised how quick you'll get used to it and then there is no way back to a smaller display

But it never ends... i'm now waiting for the 4K displays to get cheaper now - hopefully next year. A good 32-34" UHD would be nice
