I was the guy in the office that everyone joked about for not having a cell phone. But a few years ago I broke down and got one. I still have it. It's old and not "smart". I use it to find my wife in large stores when I'm ready to leave.

Hervé do you really need the 1D? As I understand it the reasons for getting it over the 5D for example (which is a full sensor camera) is if you plan taking pictures in the jungle/desert basically harsh environments because it's built with full weather sealing but also weighs a ton. It also has faster focusing and can take more photos per second so it's a bit better suited for sports also. But the 5D actually has a bit better dynamic range and the full size sensor gives you great colors. The 85 1.2L is a portrait lens and one of the best but unless you need the low light capabilities of 1.2 there are other sharp lenses much cheaper. I have the 70-200 4L (IS) zoom and it's a fantastic lens.

What on Earth as you going to do with a 1D Mark IV Hervé ? that's a very expensive powerhorsie.
Spend less on the camerabody and more on your glass, it's worth it as you will end up with so much better results.
I added a 5D Mark II and a Canon EF 24-105L IS USM lens a couple of days ago to my gearlist. It's not the fastest body on Earth and the AF system is in my opinion anything but good, but it delivers images at a quality that impresses me. Examples will be posted soon in the Daily Photothread. :)

Fair enough, Max. But we want more pictures of your home made pizza. Or at least of a new home grown salad you've concocted.

Don't bore us with semi hot women in a Swedish crowd. :D

That zoom is one of the best too, but image quality compared I didn't really see much difference with the F4 IS zoom. If you'll be shooting in low light it could be worth it, on the other hand it's twice as expensive and twice as heavy as the F4. I'll post a sample to give you an idea, taken with an old Canon 400D. With the 5D it would show even more detail.

This is with the default sharpening settings in Lightroom, I'm happy enough with that :P

wow looks like a superb and great lens.. oki.. I'll maybe re-consider that one too.. because I don't need to shoot in low light..

What about a very good 50mm... do you know any...?

Thanks a bunch Mihai.. !

Yes, Canon. It came with the camera. :) I would like to get a nice zoom and maybe a macro lens. But I need to research. I know next to nothing about lenses...
