Maybe it does not fit to your prefered workflow or maybe you lack the knowhow, but it is for sure not crap nor are people out of their mind when modeling in 3ds max.

I think I can model in 3ds max just fine.
But maybe its just me.

i don´t think that the million max users use it because it is easy to model with.
they use it because it is the number one.
you get everything for max (free models, lots of tutorials, all the plugins and all the render engines)
and of course you are able to model with it.
but i would say there are better and easier ways to model something...

just my thoughts on this

I've tried many other modeling programs, but always come back to Max. It's compatibility with other Autodesk products is why I needed to learn it (for Arch Vis). Personally, I like the complete control you have over your meshes, too. The Maxwell plug in is awesome too, and very complete.
