Wow! What a wonderful thread - 'building the i7-based machine'; Everyone wants one :D
Now I'm just curious about fan/cooler thing: Lots of people overclock their i7 up to around 4.0 Is this fan/cooler enough to go for it, or to be more exactly - what is the best & cheapest (well, at least not too expensive) solution to keep things coooool 8) and preferably quiet?

i'm waiting until a dual socket mother board is available before i embark on the build...
Have a seat ......

This was from October 08, ..and a little bit on the optimisitic side, .....there's still some waiting to be done.

chris.. that is what i was hoping for too... but i have bad news for us.. can't find the link now, but there have been official statements that intel will NOT release a new skulltrail plattform themselfs. ( skulltrail was one big advertisment.. not that they made any profit with it.. so it seems they are saving some bucks this year  )
Now a 3d party (like asus ..) might still come out with one.. but i highly doubt that we will ever see a natively OC'able dual soket 1366 mobo....

processor lithography in the sub 60 nanometer category is very tricky. i suggest you buy the processor from intel instead of trying to build your own i7.

Read 'em and weep.

And no, .. I don't understand the BM number at all, ...but this test was ran 3 separate times with a stopwatch plus MW's timer --- result = same.

No secrets revealed ---- i7 920 | Vista Ultimate x64 | 12GB's |
