However, all work is done/held on secondary drives, I rarely use the primary drives on any of my PCs....................whenever I've had a BSOD problem, the sercondary drive [with the work] is easy to recover, 15mins downtime,

Seems to work...............touch wood.
Yeah ......I use the same high-tech mission critical style ..... LOL

I use Acronis True image software for system and software backups. Very easy, works like a charm and has saved my butt more than once.

In my main workstation I have 8 drives configured as 2: C:/ is a mirrored pair, and d: is a high speed 6 drive RAID array (4 drives array with two redundant drives for safety. I am not sure which RAID version that is). I use a very small xcopy .bat file to quickly and easily backup daily work from one to the other, and once a week to yet another drive on a different machine as well.

Finished jobs I have always backed up to CD/DVD but just switched over to external HD's - but I double up on those for safety (too many eggs in one basket now :) )

Ok, but my experience doesn't match this - it's true it took a long time for the initial backup to upload - but it's a tertiary backup for me anyways so I wasn't in a rush. As far as I can tell it's is actually unlimited - I have almost 200gb backed up at the moment....
