for the best photography, history, cutting, music, nothing is close to "Tobby Dammit" from Fellini.

If someone is interested search about "Histoires extraordinaires" (1968)
("tre passi nel delirio" the italian title)
it's a trilogy with tree short films. One by Roger Vadim one by Louis Malle, and the last one by Fellini.
Don't look at the first two ones... they are absolutely boring.
