I am trying to find a nice simple automatic backup program that is easy to use. I have had way too much experience with dodgy systems where you are hoping and praying that your data is backed up, I have also had experiences where things are copied more than once creating a big mess to sort through. Any ideas? I have Mac's and PC's in the house and just bought a 3TB time capsule for the Mac's/iphones etc so would like to use that system if possible.
Thanks in advance

There is a "one touch" solution from Rebit licensed by seagate. I haven't tried it myself but it looks interesting.

The only thing that prevented me from trying it was that i don't like compressed data backups - one step more that can get corrupted...
I'm using a direct copy tool for the data (Second Copy 8 ) and TrueImage for the system images.

There are some well known like GFI Backup, Cobian Backup... I found a great one, nice UI and fast setup called Backupmaker but I had problems with some of the exclusions... They have only basic wildcard format there...

Thanks everyone! I have a RAID 0 setup on my main system and will invest in a 4 bay or larger backup unit for the external drive. Thanks for all the tips - I am looking at Drobo -I have Acronis True Image but have not used it in a while (I liked it for the image of my drives but for incremental backups I found it heavy). I downloaded a trial version of Genie Professional because of the way it handles incremental backups. I have run into trouble in the past with data saved multiple times creating a big mess to deal with and sort through. Thanks all for your help!

I use "ZDBackup" after evaluating some tools. It's cheap, has lots of possibilities and works in the background if you like.
I make a backup to another drive everyday, then every week a backup of the everyday backup and finally the week backup goes every month to an external drive using sync of only changed files. works fast.
