Have been there more than 6 times in past 10 years. There's a local saying that says after your fifth trip, you don't go back to where you came from (home)..... It's a hard place to leave.
San Jose has a yearly avg temperature of roughly 70F. Both coasts are beautiful, and the people are very welcoming. The locals, for the most part, are hard working independents who refer to thselves as Costa Ricans. Not mexicans or Latin Americans. But proud Costa Ricans. They also are very receptive to hear you trying to learn their language. Partly because the are trying to learn yours. Whereas in Brazil, if you try talking to anyone in Spanish, they'll blow you off until you learn how to speak Portuguese.
