I don' understand it ...
I thought maxwell output is stricly RGB, and so is every digital camera. Surely, I can convert the images (rendering and photo) into CMYK before editing. But why not just convert the PSD in the end? The final file before you print it, after all editing is done?

This is not about Maxwell. Working in CMYK is completely a different subject of Desktop Publishing. RGB to CMYK conversion is nothing close to be helpful at this point. :)

I haven't used a quark type program since 1992........so when it comes to DTP it ain't my problem. :D
In the last eight years I've never even been asked if I can deliver footage in cmyk........and most of my stuff goes to TV or web, so rgb rules......

I don't suggest you guys CMYK already and I don't know why you make a RGB-CMYK war now :) What I'm saying is, there's still no real rival for Photoshop when it comes to desktop publishing and today Photoshop is dominating the market and this is one of the most important thing what makes similar applications way cheaper.

It's not a war Tom, I just wanted to point out that 'professional full-time CG guys' do not all need PS as a matter of course..........perpetuating the myth only increases the myth, if you take my meaning. :D

I also prefer the corner shop in the village to a trip to Tescos......[ok the product range isn't so huge, but all the basic foodstuffs are there].

Peace. :D

I'm wondering why Photoshop CS4 extended is $2000AUS online at the Australian Adobe website, but online price is $999US, pretty freaking sweet markup, would I be doing anything illegal if I sent my half sister (who lives in the US) some cash via paypal and got her to purchase it as a gift for me?
