I tried some time ago and don't recall any special issue with it but it's not like 64 bits. You can use 3GB but not with one app. I mean one app alone can still only use 2GB.
I don't remember any problem using it though despite its limitations.

i use it and one app can use up to 2.6gb and this often is the difference between renderable or not.

only cons: the used memory "reaches" in the graphics area. meaning you can't play 3d games and i sometimes get strange behavior in the editor and with screenshots. but nothing too bad. and for the games i have set two configurations, with and w/o 3gb switch, i choose between at start up.

so i recommend the switch :)

works fine so far, you will have to reduce the max mem to 2.9!!

multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition" /noexecute=optin /fastdetect /3GB /USERVA=2990

Great feedback, i'm happy to here that it works well. During the weekend i had to render an archviz scene (by the way that's pretty new for me and i'm not quite good at it) and i had to render at 1600x1200 because of the 2GB restriction but today i have switch to 3GB and i could easily render the same scene at 2000x1500. I was just afraid that i will met some problems with some application. Now if this happen just for the game, i don't care as I use computer only for work. So it's a good new.

AndreD, thanks for the trick. I don't really know why i have to add this but i will do it.
