When using Revit, a common problem with light fixtures is the fact that there is not a "surface" object in Revit, like the plane object in Max, so usually the lamp is a small triangular or rectangular solid, that gives us minimum 12 surfaces in Maxwell
What I just discovered is this...
In the family editor, we can use model text, characters like "I" or "-" for the lamps... We can assign a material to it, adjust the size of the character and make "height" parameter = 0.00
Then, when we render, our lamp has only 2 surfaces !!!
Believe me, this is very useful, I had terrible problems with my last project.
Glad to help....
