unfortuneatly it only takes soket 771 cpus aka. Xeon, which are a little more expensive at the same clockspeed.

Intel tries to sell this cpu with it:
Intel Core 2 Extreme QX9775, 4x 3.20GHz, 400MHz FSB, 2x 6MB shared Cache, 771-pin

an extreme edition (open multiplier) with soket 771... in europe it sells for 1200€ right now... :?

but you could get two Intel Xeon DP L5420 4x 2.50GHz at an ok price...

I really don't get it why it's a 771 socket. They marketed it as a game enthusiast platform and not a workstation enthusiast platform.

QX9650 is LGA775
but QX9775 is LGA771

I don't see some normal healthy marketing logic in any of this. All that gaming talk crap really pointed it as being a 775 socket thingy. Why have a dual 771 board which is just a little bit more expensive than the other cheaper dual 771 boards, and not a dual 775 board for which you can have much cheaper and still very powerfull processors. I mean just look at the charts of the current processors, look at the prices and you'll see that skulltrail just won't be a successful product.

Well atleast I personally doubt it's going to put decent cashitos into their pockets.
