Ok, i finally set this baby up. Bright like the sun, probably solves winter depression as a side effect. Very evenly lit, wonderful compared to my notebook.
Now i got my first issue however: Many JPEG images throughout the web show heavy artifacts (green/reddish compression blocks), including those i made, which kinda scared me
My CRT had a pretty bad contrast in the dark range, so RGB 40,40,40 probably showed as black to me, but since so many othere people's images show up equally uglified, i wonder if something is overtweaked on my new screen.
Using the many screen adjustment options brought no success yet, i'll run some more test and see if it looks any different in Windows. I remember seeing the same effect on my desktop background when switching from the native KDE engine to Beryl.
Any help from those with TFT experience welcome.
edit: Display problem was OS related, nm
