Conroe really seems to be a huge step forward and Intel will take first place in performance again after a long time.

Intels Quad core CPU will be released this year, but AMD next year (it was announced). Conroe TDP is lower then AMD X2. So Conroe is the best choice now, i think.

Conroe rules, I ordered mine for 310 EUR, compared to the FX-62 (pricing around 1000 EUR) you get alot for your money!

I am suspicious about the speed test! we´ll see then what this cpu is worth!

Wait for the E6600 and o/c it, it's gonna top out somewhere around 3.2± with the locked multi and decent ram, that should be ok.

Hope that you all are aware of AMD ~50% pricecuts.

I guess Intel got the lead in highest performance and low watt usage and
AMD is still good at price per performance.

@ aji

yep, i know that amd price cuts are pretty good concerning price per performance, but i decided to go for the new technology! anyway, i have to wait at least 3 more weeks to get my new machine built up! ;)
