What is troublesome is that ever so often, unfortunately not predictably so, the angle map, unchanged, causes a glitch. Here you can see that some of the hair-bundles at the rear are oriented inwards, not outwards in a radial fashion. If you have to render, say, 20 different brush designs, this is a nuisance.

Solid wood is always a problem.
