Notes
  • Just in case you find it confusing, there will no longer be separate installers for the various plugin versions on Windows. When you run the installer, it will let you choose from a list, which versions of SketchUp to install for. There are also no longer separate installers for the Standalone & Render Suite plugins; rather, the mode in which the plugin runs is determined by the license found on the machine, which means you could upgrade from Free, to Standalone, to Render Suite, without having to download, uninstall, and install a different plugin. This represents a pretty big change, so please let me know if you find any problems. The OSX side will follow suit in the next build, but I am still working on that.

Notes
  • As stated above, this version unifies installation for all plugin versions on OSX, as was done for Windows in 3.0.1. Installation on OSX is troublesome with an application like a SketchUp plugin, especially when it needs to support various versions of SketchUp. Various approaches have been used with this plugin in the past, each with its drawbacks; the one implemented here consists of a custom installer app that actually contains the plugin files, and figures out where to install them when you run it. More than being just an installer, it is really more of a plugin manager, as it is also capable of uninstalling the plugin automatically, from any SketchUp installations that may be present. However, I am not 100% sure that I like it yet, so please give it a try and let me know what you think. If you have any trouble, please see the readme for details on performing a manual installation; since the app contains the plugin files, you can easily get at them by using right-click > Show Package Contents.

Important Note
  • Maxwell 3.0.1.3 is crashing with MXS References containing instances; this also affects MXS References used in the plugin, as well as the new Maxwell Scatter feature, which operates in terms of MXS References. The workaround is to disable instances when exporting an MXS intended to be used for referencing (which is not generally a bad idea, regardless). Since the Standalone plugin has no option for disabling instances, the workaround there is to fully explode the SKP model.
