I tried to open some bigger scenes, e.g. interior scenes with lots of geometry etc, but almost can't work with them - object selection is very slow. Is it known problem?

Are you selecting in viewport or in the object list? The slowest will be if you're in wireframe mode and trying to click in the viewport. Try switching to shaded view and it should be a bit faster.

Viewport. Indeed in shaded is a bit faster but still slow... Any chances to fix it?

I'm afraid not with the QT libraries we are using. I just noticed sometimes the first select is slow, but subsequent ones are faster. Or the fastest would be selecting them in the object list.
