Material with alpha channel very slow in Material Editor

When I try creating a material with any alpha channel used Material Editor seems to get stuck. I have to force quit after selecting the alpha channel option. It actually affects my whole computer. Tried it on two PC's. Same result.

I'm using the latest version of Maxwell. Can anyone try to replicate and report?
