I didn't ask you to decide, just to clear up the facts...
(and i don't use facebook btw.)
This is from your blog
UPGRADES
- You can upgrade to V4 directly from any older version (V1, V2, V3). One license seat equals one upgrade.
- You get 2 licenses per upgrade: one license + another one for FREE. You upgrade one old license seat and thus you get 2 x V4 licenses. You can choose between 2 plugin integrations or one plugin and Maxwell | Studio.
- You can choose between nodelocked or floating licenses, the latter being a more expensive upgrade.
- In case you already had rendernodes with older Maxwell versions, you can also upgrade these for FREE.
Example: If you are a 3ds Max user and you also use Cinema 4D (or you would like to use Studio in addition to Maxwell | 3ds Max), then a nodelocked upgrade would cost you 495€/$595 and a floating one – 595€/$695. You would get V4 Maxwell | 3ds Max + Maxwell | Cinema 4D (or Maxwell | Studio). If you had let’s say 8 rendernodes from a previous version, you will get 10 x V4 rendernodes.
And this is what i get in the shop
Are you serious? I mean, radically changing the license model from a full package with all plugins included - which was one major point for maxwell for more than 10 years (!) - to only one plugin is one thing... but to say everyone who is updating is getting one free license extra and to sell this as benefit is simply unbelievable! It doesn't matter to me if you call it plugin or license, the fact is that i get much less now and can't go on with my current setup without buying additional licenses! I get only 5 instead of 10 rendernodes and i lose the flexiblility to add or to switch to another modeler.
I'm using Sketchup, Max and Studio and 10 nodes and i was planning maybe to add Modo or Rhino in the near future. So with this new model i have to upgrade 2 licenses to be able to continue with my current workflow - and if i wouldn't have additional V2 licenses this would mean, i would have to buy an additional full license!
And how is it possible, that the shop is still showing different upgrade prices than the ones you have announced on your blog? You are saying i get the upgrade for 595€ and the shop shows 690€!
I really don't get it what is happening here, the only thing i know is that i will never upgrade to V4 under these conditions with the need to pay 1380€ (or "only" 1190€) to get my current setup updated. Besides the fact that there are no new features except the GPU which is still in alpha stage with all these missing features and problems. Simply unbelievable!
